7 Cinco de Mayo Drinks for 2025

The fifth of May is almost here, and that means tequila drinks to celebrate the Mexican holiday. Given that agave spirits continue to be popular with guests, you should have several creative tequila cocktails in your lineup all year — but especially in the summer. Here are seven we like for 2025.

Temptation

Course Drinks
Keyword chile liqueur, lime, shiso, Simple syrup, tequila, white wine

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Mijenta blanco tequila
  • ¾ oz. Michael Lavelle chenin blanc
  • ½ oz. Flamingo Rivera Mango Chili liqueur
  • ½ oz. Lime
  • ¼ oz. Simple syrup
  • 1 dash Japanese shiso bitters

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Shake and double strain.
  • Garnish with mango tuile.

Sol Ardiente

Course Drinks
Keyword black tea, lemon, mango liqueur, sotol, tequila

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Maestro Dobel Reposado tequila
  • 1 oz. Casa Lotos sotol
  • ¾ oz. Chinola mango liqueur
  • ¾ oz. Black tea syrup
  • ¾ oz. Lemon juice

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Strain into a rock glass.
  • Garnish with a slice of mango and a sprinkle of grated nutmeg.

Fortune’s Fool

Course Drinks
Keyword banana liqueur, blanco tequila, lime, Pineapple Juice, spiced pear liqueur

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ oz. G4 Tequila Blanco
  • ½ oz. Giffard Banane du Brésil liqueur
  • ¼ oz. St. George spiced pear liqueur
  • ½ oz. Pineapple juice
  • ½ oz. Lime juice
  • 3 Hoja santa leaves shaken in cocktail

Instructions

  • Rim rocks glass with cinnamon-sugar-salt mix.
  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Strain into rocks glass over a large cube
  • Garnish with banana leaf wrapped inside of glass.

Grand Spice

Course Drinks
Keyword blanco tequila, lime, Passion fruit, Simple syrup, tabasco sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Tequila blanco
  • ½ oz. Passion fruit pulp
  • 1 oz. Lime juice
  • 1 oz. Simple syrup
  • 2 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1 Lime slice

Instructions

  • Combine first four ingredients in a shaker.
  • Add ice and shake.
  • Strain over ice into Old Fashioned glass.
  • Add some Tabasco sauce drops.
  • Garnish with a slice of lime.

Spicy Dot Martini

Keyword Ancho Reyes Verde chile liqueur, chile oil, fire water bitters, Licor 43, mezcal

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Codigo 1530 Artesanal Mezcal
  • ½ oz. Licor 43
  • ½ oz. Ancho Reyes Verde liqueur
  • 2 dashes Fire water tincture
  • Garnish with Calabrian chili oil

Instructions

  • Add ingredients to a shaker with ice.
  • Shake until chilled.
  • Take a dropper and garnish with chili oil.
  • Add more dots for more spice.

Keyword amber vermouth, Aperol, berry shrub, lime, tequila

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Cazadores Reposado tequila
  • 1 oz. Berry shrub
  • ½ oz. Lime juice
  • ½ oz. Rockwell amber vermouth
  • ½ oz. Aperol

Instructions

  • Rim a chilled coupe halfway with preserved citrus salt.
  • Combine all ingredients and shake
  • Double strain contents into chilled coupe

Keyword agave, blanco tequila, coconut water, Cointreau, lime, Passion fruit purée, Pineapple Juice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Flecha Azul Blanco tequila
  • ½ oz. Cointreau
  • 1 oz. Passion fruit puree
  • 1 oz. Pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. Coconut water
  • ½ oz. Agave
  • ½ oz. Lime juice

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Pour into glass with ice.
  • Garnish with pineapple slice.
