WineStyles Tasting Station in West Des Moines, Iowa, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a week of events running Sept. 20-26.
A Top 100 Retailer winner, the store opened at West Glen Town Center in 2006. The location operates as a wine shop and tasting room and also offers craft beer, gourmet foods, tastings and classes. It now serves as the WineStyles flagship location and corporate headquarters for the franchise.
The anniversary week began Sept. 20 and includes customer activities, promotions and events. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce took place Sept. 22 at 4 p.m., followed by a wine tasting.
The schedule also includes an Amaro Amore cocktail class at BeerStyles on Sept. 23, a Sips & Shenanigans game night on Sept. 24 and a Lobster Fest on Sept. 25.
The anniversary will conclude Sept. 26 with a grand celebration. Wine Club members will have access to a VIP hour from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by a cake cutting and sparkling wine toast at 5 p.m. The event will open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. and include a tasting of more than 40 wines.
The store also offers anniversary promotions throughout the week, including 20% off the first month of new Wine Club memberships, 20% off Wine Club wines in stock and 20% off accessories such as glassware and gourmet foods. Additionally, the store will serve anniversary wine flights.
For co-owners Andrea and Bryan McGinness, the anniversary marks two decades of operating the West Des Moines location.
“Twenty years ago, we opened WineStyles with a simple idea: wine should be approachable, fun and something people enjoy together,” said Andrea. “What we could never have imagined was how many friendships would come from that idea. So many people have shared important moments of their lives with us at WineStyles. That’s what we’re celebrating the most.”
Bryan said the business has focused on its customers and community throughout its history.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the customers, employees, friends and community members who have been part of this journey,” he said. “We don’t just want to celebrate where we’ve been – we want to raise a glass to what comes next.”
The West Des Moines location has also received recognition from the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, including Best Bar and Best Wine Shop in its 2025 Best of the West awards.
WineStyles Tasting Station is located at 5515 Mills Civic Parkway, Suite 120, in West Des Moines.
