As liquor stores continue to expand their non-alcoholic selections, a new retailer in New York’s Hudson Valley has built its entire business around the category.
Hudson Dry opened in Hudson, New York, in July 2026 as a bottle shop focused on non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits. The store also carries mixers, bitters, garnishes and cocktail ice, positioning zero-proof beverages within the broader cocktail occasion rather than treating them as a standalone alternative to alcohol.
Founder and Owner Ryan Curran opened the store at 421 Warren Street in response to growing consumer interest in alcohol alternatives. Curran’s background includes roles at Eleven Madison Park in New York City, Big Night Restaurant Group in San Francisco and Talbott & Arding in Hudson. He also founded Connecticut food business Acater and Oliter, and previously taught hospitality management.
Curran’s personal experience with sobriety also influenced the business concept.
Hudson Dry carries non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits from brands including Athletic Brewing Company, Lyre’s and Ritual, along with botanical and tea-based alcohol alternatives.
The assortment extends into products that traditional beverage alcohol retailers increasingly stock alongside spirits and ready-to-drink products. Hudson Dry sells tonic waters, colas, ginger beers and sparkling waters, as well as fresh citrus, cocktail cherries, olives, Bloody Mary garnishes and cocktail syrups. The store also carries traditional and non-alcoholic cocktail bitters.
Hudson Dry currently offers Kold Draft cocktail ice and plans to expand its craft ice program in winter 2026.
The retailer’s approach reflects how the non-alcoholic category can reach consumers beyond those who abstain from alcohol. Hudson Dry also targets consumers who alternate between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, hosts shopping for guests who do not drink and shoppers looking for cocktail ingredients.
The store operates on the first floor of a renovated 1860s building in downtown Hudson. The renovation retained tin ceilings, exposed brick and stonework from the building.
Hudson Dry also plans to extend its business beyond its Warren Street location. The retailer expects to launch e-commerce in September 2026.

The company has also introduced The Dry Wall, a $400 annual membership program. Members receive 10% off purchases in the store and online once e-commerce launches, complimentary Kold Draft cocktail ice, early access to new arrivals, access to limited releases and invitations to tastings and events.
Members also receive an engraved brick displayed in the store that was salvaged during the building’s renovation.
Hudson Dry operates Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and offers private tastings, consultations and events by appointment.
