Gérard Bertrand Unveils Sparkling Esprit de Cote des Roses

Narbonne, France-based winegrower Gérard Bertrand has launched Esprit de Cote des Roses sparkling rosé. Made from a blend of chardonnay, pinot noir and grenache noir, Esprit de Cote des Roses expresses freshness, balance and aromatic finesse.

That’s thanks to the Southern France vineyards, which are influenced by sea breezes, altitude and the southern sun, yielding base wines that preserve natural acidity while offering roundness and depth, the company says. The 12%-ABV sparkling wine opens with notes of fresh red berries and subtle white florals. On the palate, fine, lively bubbles carry a creamy mousse, revealing a balance between vibrancy and softness, and finishing with a delicate, lightly textured elegance.

Rooted in Mediterranean art de vivre and presented in a distinctive sculpted bottle, this new cuvée marks a clear and deliberate extension of the Cote des Roses rosé brand, which launched in 2013, according to the company. Esprit de Cote des Roses, rolling out internationally this spring, has a suggested retail price of $22.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
