MGP Ingredients will rebrand as Sempreon on Nov. 2, 2026, bringing its Branded Spirits, Distilling Solutions and Ingredient Solutions businesses under a single corporate identity.
The company also plans to change its Nasdaq ticker symbol from MGPI to CASK.
The rebrand follows a series of acquisitions that expanded the company’s spirits portfolio and production capabilities. Founded in 1941, MGP has grown from a single distillery into a business spanning branded spirits, contract distilling and specialty ingredients.
The company acquired a distillery in Lawrenceburg, IN, in 2011, expanding its distillation capacity and American whiskey operations. The facility, now known as MGP Distillery, remains part of its distilling business.
In 2021, MGP acquired Luxco, bringing brands, distillation and bottling capabilities and distribution operations into the company. The acquisition expanded its branded spirits portfolio, which includes Penelope Bourbon, Yellowstone Bourbon, Rebel Bourbon, Remus Bourbon, Ezra Brooks Bourbon, Blood Oath Bourbon, Lux Row Bourbon, El Mayor Tequila, Exotico Tequila, Juarez Tequila and Everclear.
MGP acquired Penelope Bourbon in 2023. The brand has since become a key part of the company’s American whiskey business.
“Sempreon is the next chapter for a company that’s been building toward this for years,” said Julie Francis, president and chief executive officer of MGP Ingredients. “Since 1941, we’ve grown from a single distillery into a business spanning Branded Spirits, Distilling Solutions and Ingredient Solutions. This name brings all three of our businesses under one identity. As we enter this exciting new era, our strategy remains grounded in focus, disciplined execution and accountability. Sempreon brings that strategy to life through our commitment to the idea of ‘Tradition Looking Forward,’ honoring everything we have built while continuing to evolve, innovate and create long-term growth and value.”
The name Sempreon combines references to the Latin word “semper,” meaning “always,” and the Greek word “aion,” meaning “eternity.” According to the company, the name reflects its history and plans for future growth. Its new mission is “Creating moments that matter. Building a legacy that lasts.”
“Over the better part of the last century, our company has grown to represent much more than a single distillery, brand or category,” said Matias Bentel, chief marketing officer of MGP Ingredients. “Becoming Sempreon is about bringing our businesses together under a shared identity while honoring the legacy that built them. We’re carrying that legacy forward through the names of our distilleries, including MGP and Lux Row, while looking ahead to what’s next.”
Three Business Segments
Under the Sempreon name, the company will continue to operate across three business segments.
Branded Spirits includes brands across bourbon, whiskey, tequila and other categories, with products positioned at multiple price points. The company said it will focus on developing its existing portfolio and expanding brands across categories and consumer occasions.
MGP has also introduced MGP Chapter One: Out of the Shadows, a 10-year-old, 111-proof straight bourbon. The release marks the first time the company has marketed whiskey directly to consumers under the MGP name. The new line will draw on the company’s distilling history.
Distilling Solutions provides distillation, aging, blending and other production services to spirits producers. Its capabilities cover bourbon, rye, whiskey, gin, grain neutral spirits and other distilled spirits.
Since 2012, MGP Distillery in Lawrenceburg has supported more than 1,000 American whiskey customers, according to the company. The business also produces spirits for customers in categories including gin and vodka.
Ingredient Solutions produces specialty ingredients for food manufacturers, including wheat proteins, starches, dietary fibers and texturized proteins. The segment combines research and development with production capabilities to support applications involving nutrition, texture, taste and functionality.
The rebrand will consolidate the three businesses under the Sempreon corporate identity while retaining distillery names including MGP and Lux Row, the company said.
