Santa Margherita USA has released Sassoregale Vermentino 2016, the first time this Vermentino has been imported into the US.
The wine is 100% Vermentino from the Maremma Toscana DOC in Italy. Aromas include citrus and stone fruits framed by fresh herbs and minerality, the company says. On the palate are a concentration of fruits, with a mineral-driven finish.
Sassoregale Vermentino 2016 pairs well with any food with strong herbal notes (like pesto or salsa verde) or citrus (like ceviche or mussels in a lemon-butter sauce). It’s ideal with seafood – from raw oysters to grilled shrimp – and white meats like suckling pig.
The wine is available nationally through the company’s distributor network. The main markets that carry this product are: New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, Colorado, California, Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, Rhode Island and Louisiana.
The suggested retail price is $18 per 750-ml. bottle.
Sassoregale Vermentino 2016 is 13.5% ABV. It comes in screwcap and 12 750-ml bottles to a case.
