Empson USA has expanded its wine portfolio by adding five family-owned French producers to its U.S. import business.
The new partnerships include Château Kirwan in Margaux, Château Malescasse in Haut-Médoc, Château Franc Mayne in Saint-Émilion, Maison de la Chapelle in Burgundy and Champagne Gérin & Fils.
The company has imported Italian wines into the United States for more than 50 years. Its portfolio includes Italian producers such as Fuligni, Costanti, Jankara, Pietradolce and Ferghettina. Empson USA also represents wineries in Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and the United States.
Delphine and Grégory Viennois, owners of Maison de la Chapelle, said the company’s values influenced their decision to partner with Empson USA.
“We chose to partner with Empson USA as our exclusive importer and representative in the United States because, like us, they are a family-owned company built on strong values and long-term relationships,” says Delphine and Grégory Viennois. “As one of the leading wine and spirits importers in the U.S., Empson has the expertise, vision, and commitment to represent our wines while preserving the identity and authenticity of our estate.”
Empson USA said the expansion reflects its long-term strategy to represent family-owned wineries from multiple wine-producing regions. The company also said it continues to invest in partnerships despite changes in consumer preferences and market conditions.
Tara Empson, CEO of Empson USA, said the expansion fulfills a goal that began with the company’s founder.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome these exceptional wineries to the Empson USA family,” Empson explains. “These partnerships are a symbol of change, and the expansion marks an important milestone in our company’s evolution. I am honored to take this step, as it was my father’s dream as an avid lover of French wine and Pinot Noir. His wish was to one day showcase France alongside Italy, two countries that have long been pioneers of quality. I thank all the producers and my team for working together to accomplish this milestone and for having faith in the future of our shared vision.”
Empson USA said it will continue to focus on representing family-owned wineries while expanding beyond its Italian portfolio with producers from other wine regions.
