In honor of its 10th anniversary in August, Japanese-inspired restaurant and bar concept Sexy Fish has launched the Missing Fish Campaign. It’s a playful invitation for guests to return the iconic fish-shaped chopstick holders that have been “swimming away” since the brand’s opening.
Why would anyone want to return the stolen fish? Those who return a fish now through Aug. 31 will receive a complimentary cocktail from the new X Menu, a special 10th anniversary collection inspired by Sexy Fish’s most celebrated drink creations from the past decade.
The restaurant has good reason to cast a net for the pilfered fish. Since the first Sexy Fish opened in London’s Mayfair in 2015 — which was followed by the Miami location in 2022, then Manchester, U.K. in 2023, and Dubai in late 2024 — more than 558,000 fish have mysteriously disappeared worldwide, becoming cult collectibles for fans.
For those looking to trade in the stolen sea creatures (with no judgment, the company says: “they are irresistible”), just one fish can be returned per person, per visit. The fish must be handed in at reception before entering the restaurant to receive the complimentary cocktail.
