Constellation Brands Hires New SVP/Chief Supply Chain Officer

Beverage alcohol giant Constellation Brands has announced that Alex Alvarez will join the company as senior vice president/chief supply chain officer, beer division, effective Sept. 14, 2026. Alvarez will lead the company’s end-to-end beer supply chain organization, including manufacturing, procurement, planning, logistics, and distribution.

Alvarez, who will report to Jim Sabia, Constellation’s executive vice president/president, beer division, brings more than 30 years of global operations and supply chain leadership experience across manufacturing, distribution, innovation, quality, safety, sustainability, and capital management.

He has held leadership supply chain positions across CPG companies, including General Mills and Procter & Gamble, as well as in the alcohol beverage industry with Brown-Forman and Suntory Global Spirits. At Suntory he oversaw the entire global supply chain organization, including 18 distilleries across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Europe and India.

Alvarez succeeds John Kester, who plans to retire in November 2026 following 12 years with Constellation Brands. During his tenure, Kester helped transform the company’s beer supply chain organization, including establishing a centralized procurement function, integrating key manufacturing assets, expanding production capacity, and building a fully integrated end-to-end supply chain network that today supports production of more than 430 million cases of beer annually.
