The Dalmore Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky just launched The Dalmore Aged 17 Years, the first new expression added to The Dalmore’s Principal Collection since 2022.
Sherry maturation has been central to The Dalmore’s heritage for centuries. The 17-Year-Old begins its journey in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, according to the distillery, developing a foundation of soft vanilla and honey. It is then finished in a trilogy of aged sherry casks, including Amoroso, rare Apóstoles and Matusalem Oloroso. This is the oldest expression in The Dalmore’s portfolio to be finished in all three of these casks simultaneously.
On the nose, Seville orange, orchard fruit and wood spice deliver a first impression, according to distillery notes. The palate unfolds with poached pears, forest berries, sweet toffee and orange marmalade. The finish features dark chocolate orange, dried fruit and subtle notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Coming in at 42% ABV (84 proof), the Dalmore 17-Year-Old is presented in a purple gift box with a magnetic closure, housing The Dalmore’s glass bottle. Available for an SRP of $250, this expression is available in the U.S. on the distillery’s website, at select retailers and fine dining establishments.
