The House of Suntory, a founding house of Japanese Whisky, has unveiled Haku Yuzu, the first permanent addition to the Haku Vodka line and its debut flavored expression.
This new expression includes notes of all-natural yuzu citrus fruit, the company reports.
Made from 100% polished Japanese white rice, the production process includes three separate distillations. The spirit is then blended and filtered through bamboo charcoal in Osaka, Japan — a method unique to Suntory.
Haku Yuzu is made with all-natural ingredients with the hand-harvested Japanese yuzu citrus leading the flavor profile, according to the distillery. Yuzu has been cultivated in Japan for more than 1,000 years, and is embedded in the country’s culinary traditions.
The Haku Yuzu label was designed in collaboration with Japanese artists, including calligrapher Kotaro Hachinohe and illustrator Eichi Hosomi.
Available now in the U.S. market, Haku Yuzu comes bottled at 40% ABV, with a suggested retail price of $27.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
