The Glendronach Distillery has officially launched The Master’s Anthology series in the U.S., a new collection from the Highland single malt Scotch producer that specializes in sherry cask maturation.
The new collection is comprised of three non-age-statement single malts: Ode to The Valley, Ode to The Embers and Ode to The Dark.
The Master’s Anthology begins with Ode to The Valley, a fruit-forward expression of florals and summer berry notes, matured in port and sherry casks, the distillery reports. A peated expression, Ode to The Embers blends smoky peat with spiced warmth from Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks. The richest expression, Ode to The Dark, offers notes of chocolate, black cherry and dates, matured in Pedro Ximénez casks.
These releases are meant to “explore the aromatic depth and character” of The Glendronach’s signature sherry cask whisky, culminating in some of the darkest expressions ever crafted by the brand, it says.
“The Master’s Anthology is a tribute to the art of sherry cask maturation, reflecting the depth and character that have become synonymous with The Glendronach for over nearly 200 years,” says Rachel Barrie, master blender of The Glendronach. “This collection is a journey into the heart of our distillery, where time-honored traditions and natural influences shape every drop of our whisky.”
“Each bottling is a new composition, amplifying key notes while preserving the harmony of our tradition,” she adds. “Ode to the Valley captures the abundance of the landscape of The Glendronach Distillery in full glory, Ode to the Embers evokes the bold spice of days gone by in The Valley of Forgue and Ode to the Dark enrobes layers of chocolate, plum, caramelized dates and coffee, to bask The Glendronach in rich splendor. This anthology embodies the essence of The Glendronach and tells a story of our history, our heart and our dedication.”
Ode to The Valley is 46.2% ABV and has a suggested retail price of $84.50. Ode to The Embers is 48.4% ABV and has an SRP of $91. Ode to The Dark is 50.8% ABV and has an SRP of $97.50.
