Sagamore Spirit has announced a new release of Sagamore Spirit Cask Strength Rye Whiskey.
This latest bottling aged for seven years in Maryland.
This is a modern Maryland-style rye that draws inspiration from Maryland’s distilling past through its taste profile, the company says. The rye contains 100% Maryland made whiskey at Sagamore Distillery, using two mash bills, and 100% non-GMO corn for low-rye whiskey. It was triple distilled for Maryland-style rye flavor.
The cask-strength proof is 123.
On the nose is dark fruits, honey and baking spices, according to the distillery. The palate contains dark chocolate and black cherries with freshly cracked black pepper, before notes of caramel and honey. The finish brings leathery oak tannins and warmth.
This new batch of Sagamore Spirit Cask Strength Rye Whiskey rolls out nationwide beginning in May at a suggested retail price of $69.99 per 750-ml. bottle. It can be purchased either at the Sagamore Spirit’s distillery in Baltimore or at retailers throughout the country.
