Portland, OR-based Eastside Distilling has purchased Azuñia Tequila from Intersect Beverage. Azuñia includes four tequila expressions: Blanco Organic Tequila, Reposado Organic Tequila, Añejo Tequila and Azuñia Black Tequila.
The $3.5 million Azuñia, which is sold primarily to on-premise locations throughout the western and southeastern U.S., increased sales 37% in the past year, to about 13,000 cases. In addition to the higher-end tequila brand, the acquisition provides Eastside with more than 2,600 on-premise points of distribution and a direct sales team.
The Azuñia tequila brand also provides Eastside Distilling with a second national anchor brand, along with its Redneck Riviera Whiskey portfolio. Eastside’s other brands included the Burnside whiskey family and Hue-Hue Coffee Rum.
