Serendipity Wines announced a new California distribution partnership with Aquitaine Wine Company, a Bordeaux-based négociant and U.S. importer specializing in artisanal, estate-driven wines from France.
Founded in 2002 in Bordeaux by Jean-Christophe and Margaret Calvet, Aquitaine Wine Company’s portfolio has grown over the years beyond Bordeaux to include wines from the South of France, Languedoc-Roussillon, the Loire Valley and the Rhône, according to the company.
“We’re delighted to partner with Aquitaine Wine Company in California,” said Seth Fagelman, president and CEO of Serendipity Wines, in a news release. “They’ve built a loyal following for their producers across the state, and we’re eager to build on that success. Their focus on quality, authenticity, and long-term relationships is a perfect match for our own values and vision.”
“Partnering with Serendipity Wines in California is a natural fit for us,” added Jean-Sébastien Calvet, U.S. sales director for Aquitaine Wine Company. “We carefully choose wholesalers who share our long-term vision and dedication to fine wine. After more than 20 years in California, we see Serendipity as the ideal partner to carry our brands forward in this key market. In an era of distributor consolidation, aligning with a mid-sized, family-owned company that specializes in fine wine is the right move. Serendipity’s proven track record in distribution and brand building gives us confidence that together, we can expand our reach and serve all major on- and off-premise accounts across the state.”
