Overview
The Portfolio Director acts as the liaison and support for suppliers and key Allied Beverage Group executives to execute marketing strategies of existing brands, introduction of new products, assessment of opportunities in the market and analysis of brand performance.
Responsibilities
Acts as advocate for supplier at monthly marketing meetings including making presentations on 90 day pricing calendars, reporting results of new product introductions, reporting results on previous months’ priorities and choosing the upcoming month’s priorities.
- Responsible for pricing, programming, new items and billing for assigned suppliers.
- Responsible for meeting targets on gross profit goals and profit margins on brands assigned.
- Prepares and proofs prices structures on new items and price increases on existing items.
- Coordinates with Purchasing and Pricing personnel on all aspects of new products with respect to item maintenance and inventory requirements.
- Communicates with Purchasing on all special programming, change in rotation and extraordinary Retail Incentive Programs (RIPs), so that inventory levels are adequate for sales.
- Works closely with Finance on bill backs, depletion allowances, floor stock adjustments, close outs and supplier banks.
- Communicates with sales force on brand initiatives via sales meetings, market blitzes, field work-withs and visitation of key accounts.
- Prepares for and attends all supplier review meetings.
- Works with Desk Top Publishing and marketing assistants to develop sales support materials, like holiday brochures and monthly cover themes for Price Book.
- Reports on market trends and competitive activity to ABG sales and brand suppliers.
- Monitors slow moving inventory and coordinates with sales and operations to sell product balance.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 7 years industry experience (or equivalent) – preferably in sales and/or marketing.
- Must have industry knowledge of state and federal (BATF and ABC) regulations.
- Computer literacy in AS400 and Diver (report writing level).
- Computer literacy in Office Windows (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Presentation, planning, organization and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
