Cutty Sark Blended Scotch Whisky has introduced its first ready-to-drink (RTD) product, offering its traditional serve — The Cutty Sark & Ginger Ale Highball — in a canned cocktail.
With this offering, Cutty Sark becomes the first blended Scotch whisky to introduce this type of canned RTD globally, according to the company.
Named after the tea clipper, Cutty Sark Blended Scotch Whisky first launched in 1923 as an easy-drinking Scotch for the American market, at the height of prohibition-era cocktail culture.
The new RTD combines Speyside single malts and grain whiskies for a fruity backbone enhanced by vanilla smoothness, according to the company.
“The Cutty Sark & Ginger Ale Highball is the latest chapter in our 100-year legacy of pushing boundaries and embracing new possibilities,” says Stephen Woodcock, master blender at Cutty Sark. “It offers whisky lovers — and anyone after a simple yet elevated drink — a refreshing, convenient way to enjoy the iconic taste of Cutty Sark, wherever their adventures take them.”
Designed to be served chilled, The Cutty Sark and Ginger Ale Highball is available now from retailers across the U.S. with an suggested price of $9.99 for a pack of four cans.
The Cutty Sark & Ginger Ale ready-to-drink is backed in the U.S. by a 360° activation, with sampling at whisky shows, truck wraps and refreshed in-store visibility.
