Women-owned spirits company Queen Bee Distilling released its inaugural expression, Osmia Vodka. This vodka is distilled from raw, chemical-free honey obtained from the Queen Bee and organic non-GMO sugar cane. Osmia Vodka ($98 MSRP / 80 Proof) is now available for purchase at select retailers in Houston and online via QueenBeeDistilling.com.
Founded by Catharine Faulconer and Kim Martin, two Houston women with East Texas roots and a friendship that dates over 45 years, Queen Bee Distilling was created out of the co-founders struggling with autoimmune issues and allergies, according to the company. The duo needs to abstain from grains, gluten and nightshades. After attempting to find a spirit on the market that didn’t have these allergens and coming up blank, they started their own.
Queen Bee’s Osmia Vodka is gluten, grain and nightshade-free. The spirit also does not contain any chemicals, glycerin or artificial additives.
“There is nothing we love more than bonding over a cocktail at the end of the evening, yet we found our options to be quite limited,” shared co-founders Catharine Faulconer and Kim Martin in a news release. “With the allergen-free, ultra-premium Osmia Vodka, we want to celebrate the beauty of nature and salute the elevated inclusive experience of exploring new and old relationships while gathering, sipping, and sharing around any table.”
