Kōloa Rum Company has just launched Kōloa Kaua‘i Cane Fire Cinnamon Flavored Hawaiian Rum.
The new Cane Fire expression is distilled, blended and bottled in Kalaheo, Kaua‘i, according to the distillery, using cane sugar and cut with filtered rainwater from Mount Waiʻaleʻale. Hawaiian-grown cinnamon from O.K. Farms is also used, located near the Wailuku River on the Big Island. The rum is twice-distilled in a vintage 1,210-gallon steam-powered copper pot still, then macerated with cinnamon.
On the nose, it opens with aromatic notes of cinnamon, vanilla and citrus, according to the distillery. The palate features a hot cinnamon kick balanced by subtle sweetness. Kōloa Kaua‘i Cane Fire Rum comes in at 40% ABV/80 proof.
