Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer’s) announced the promotion of Greg Astle to Executive Vice President, General Manager, Florida, effective immediately.
In this role, Astle will report directly to Patrick Cassidy, Regional President, East Region, according to the company, and will be responsible for overseeing all business activities in the Florida market, driving performance and strengthening supplier and customer relationships.
“Greg’s exceptional leadership, deep industry knowledge, and proven ability to drive performance make him the ideal choice to lead our Florida market,” said Cassidy in a news release. “Throughout his career, Greg has demonstrated a relentless focus on delivering results, building strong partnerships, and developing talent. I am confident that under his leadership, our Florida business will continue to thrive.”
Working His Way Up the SGWS Ladder
Astle has an impressive 32-year career within the beverage alcohol industry. He joined Southern Glazer’s in 2011 as Vice President, Trade Marketing for Coastal Wine & Spirits of Florida, according to the company. In 2016, he was promoted to Vice President, Commercial Operations for the Transatlantic Wine & Spirits Division, overseeing teams across North America.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as Vice President, Commercial Operations for Florida, leading a multi-functional team responsible for Trade Development, Strategy, Finance and Pricing and Business Intelligence. In his most recent role as Vice President, General Manager of South Florida, Astle worked closely with his team to optimize performance and strengthen supplier relationships, according to the company. Before joining Southern Glazer’s, Astle held senior roles at E. & J. Gallo Winery and Diageo North America over 17 years, gaining experience in sales, marketing and management.
