Amazon Partners with King Estate on New Wine Brand

First, Amazon bought Whole Foods for $13.7 billion, giving the online-retailer giant access to bring-and-mortar food-and-alcohol stores across the country. Now, Amazon may soon stock some of those Whole Foods shelves with wines available only through the e-retailer.

The company has reportedly partnered with King Estate Winery of Eugene, Ore. on the sale of a new wine brand named Next. These products would be available only through Amazon and the winery.

Amazon reportedly does not have ownership of the brand, but the Amazon Wine division will serve as the seller. The e-retailer also denied that it is developing its own wine brand.

Whether that holds true only for the present remains to be seen.

Amazon Wine, launched in 2012, lets users buy wines from all over the globe.

Earlier this year, Amazon expanded its alcohol delivery services.
