Martinelli’s 1868 Hard Cider Expands Into Southern California

Driven by consumer demand, Martinelli’s has expanded the reach of its award-winning 1868 Hard Cider throughout Southern California.

“Few may know that the first sips of Martinelli’s taken in 1868 were actually a hard (alcoholic) version of the famous Gold Medal products we know today,” noted Gun Ruder, president and CEO, S. Martinelli & Company, in a news release. “We’re proud to return to our roots and, given its success in Northern California, even more proud to bring 1868 Hard Cider to cider lovers throughout Southern California,” Ruder added.

Made from a blend of 100% U.S. grown Newtown Pippin and West Coast apples, according to the company, Martinelli’s 1868 Hard Cider is available at select Los Angeles- and San Diego-area retail stores including Albertsons, Stater Bros. and Total Wine stores.

The 1868 Hard Cider collection includes the following SKUs: Original (ABV: 5.7%) in both 6-pack and 12-pack cans; Imperial (ABV: 8%); Berry Blush (ABV:5.7%) and Mango (ABV: 5.7%) in 6-pack cans. The suggested retail price for 1868 Hard Cider 6-pack cans is $13.99 to $15.99, according to the company.
