St. Louis-based Italian-American concept Madrina has launched a holiday-inspired Espresso Martini flight. Priced at $25, the flight includes three varieties: Peppermint (peppermint liquor, vodka), Eggnog (dark rum, amaro), and Blackberry (creme de mure, brandy).
When creating the flight, “my priority is ensuring each Martini stands on its own as a great cocktail,” says Madrina’s bar manager Brian Clark. “I start with a distinct flavor in mind and build from a unique base liquor upward — like overproof peppermint schnapps for the Peppermint Martini; dark rum and Amaretto for the Eggnog, and creme de mure with B & B for the Blackberry.”
Since each of the coffee-based Martinis varies in shades of light or dark brown, Clark provided eye-catching garnishes, such as a bright hibiscus flower, to make them fun and inviting even before the first sip. “Our holiday Espresso Martini flight offers guests a broad spectrum of flavors while staying true to the spirit of holiday drinking— distinct but harmoniously seasonal.”
