St. Patrick’s Day Cocktails for 2024

March 17 is not only St. Patrick’s Day, but it’s a few days before the official start of spring, and people are ready for a reason to celebrate. Here are a few cocktail recipes — many of them green — suitable for St. Paddy’s Day offerings. And here are some Irish twists on classic cocktails from 2023 as a bonus.

Mystic Jade

Course Drinks
Keyword basil, coconut water, lime, Simple syrup, tequila

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Tequila
  • 1 oz. Vita Coco coconut water
  • ¾ oz. Lime
  • ¾ oz. Simple syrup
  • 4 Basil leaves muddled
  • 4 Dashes of Fee Foam

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Strain into rocks glass.
  • Garnish with dehydrated lime wheel.

Gunpowder of Middle Earth

Course Drinks
Keyword Irish whiskey, kiwi, lemon, Simple syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish gin
  • Half of a fresh kiwi peeled and cubed
  • ½ oz. Lemon juice
  • ½ oz. Simple syrup

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in shaker.
  • Muddle to create flavor.
  • Add ice to vessel and toss.
  • Double strain into coupe glass.
  • Garnish with slice of kiwi.

Think Green

Course Drinks
Keyword absinthe, pistacchio liqueur, vodka

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ oz. Bottega pistacchio liqueur
  • 2 ¼ oz. Vodka
  • 1 dash Absinthe

Instructions

  • Chill a Martini glass and garnish with coconut flakes.
  • Combine all ingredients in shaker tin with ice.
  • Shake until tins are frosted.
  • Fine strain cocktail into the Martini glass.
  • Garnish with crushed pistachio pieces.

Lucky Luck

Course Drinks
Keyword Blue Curaçao, coconut rum, melon liqueur, Pineapple Juice, spiced rum, sweet and sour

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Kōloa Kaua’i coconut rum
  • 1 oz. Kōloa Kaua’i spice rum
  • ¼ oz. Melon liqueur
  • 1 oz. Blue Curaçao
  • ½ oz. Sweet and sour
  • ½ oz. Pineapple juice

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients in glass with ice.
  • Stir with bar spoon.
  • Top with fresh ice as needed.
  • Garnish with rainbow belt and whipped cream.

Guinness Irish Whiskey Float

Course Drinks
Keyword Baileys, Guinness, Irish whiskey

Ingredients

  • 3 scoops homemade Baileys Irish Cream ice cream
  • Guinness beer
  • 1 ½ oz. Jameson Irish whiskey

Instructions

  • Place three generous scoops of Bailey’s ice cream into pilsner glass.
  • Carefully fill the remainder of the glass with Guinness.
  • Pour Irish Whiskey into shot glass for a float or accompaniment.
  • Serve with straw.

Avocado Margarita

Course Drinks
Keyword avocado, jalepeno, Margarita mix, Tajin, tequila, Triple sec

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Luna Azul tequila
  • ½ oz. Triple sec
  • 1 oz. Margarita mix
  • 1 tbsp. Avocado
  • ½ oz. Jalapeño syrup
  • Tajin spice rim

Instructions

  • Rim a coupe glass with Tajin.
  • Add all ingredients shaker and shake.
  • Pour into rimmed glass.
  • Garnish with lime wheel and jalepeno slice.

Grasshopper 2.0

Course Drinks
Keyword absinthe, Branca Menta, Crème de Cacao, creme de menthe, heavy cream, mezcal

Ingredients

  • ¾ oz. Tempus Fugit crème de menthe colored with green dye
  • ¾ oz. Giffard crème de cacao
  • ½ oz. Del Maguey ‘Vida’ mezcal
  • ¼ oz. Branca Menta
  • Barspoon of absinthe
  • 1 ¼ oz. Heavy cream

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients and shake.
  • Strain on crushed ice in a double rocks glass.
  • Cap with more crushed ice.
  • Garnish with grated dark chocolate, mint sprig and straw.

Irish Sparkling Mule

Course Drinks
Keyword ginger beer, Irish whiskey, lemon juice, mint, Simple syrup, sparkling wine

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Triple Dog Irish whiskey
  • ½ oz. Fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz. Simple syrup
  • 1 ½ oz. Ginger beer
  • 2 oz. Cava or prosecco
  • Lemon wheel
  • Fresh mint

Instructions

  • In a shaker with ice, add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup and ginger beer.
  • Shake and strain into tall glass with fresh ice.
  • Top with sparkling wine.
  • Garnish with lemon wheel and fresh mint.
