New Year’s Brunch Drinks

Most people concentrate on New Year’s Eve for parties and celebrations, but New Year’s Day is a great option for a casual lunch or brunch. Kick of the year with some interesting and tasty brunch drinks that go beyond the basic Bloody or Mimosa.

1 ½ oz. First Light Coffee Whiskey

½ oz. Baileys

½ oz. Frangelico

1 ½ oz. Espresso

Mix all ingredients over ice. Stir and strain into a coup glass. Garnish with espresso beans.

½ oz. 1884 Uncle Nearest Whiskey

½ oz. Cointreau or triple sec 

2 oz. Fresh orange juice 

1 ½ oz. Une Femme “The Juliette” Brut sparkling wine

Chill whiskey, triple sec and orange juice. Pour all the ingredients except champagne into a chilled flute and stir. Add Champagne and stir one last time.

Bourbon Bellini

1 ½ parts Basil Hayden bourbon whiskey

¾ parts Italicus liqueur

¾ parts Apricot liqueur

¾ parts Fresh lemon juice

1 ½ parts Prosecco

1 Lemon wheel

Combine all ingredients into shaker tin with ice. Shake and strain into Champagne flute. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

¼ oz. Simple syrup

¾ oz. Lemon juice

¾ oz. House-made cranberry puree

1 ½ oz. Vodka

½ oz. Lychee

¼ oz. Lillet Blanc

1 oz. Sparkling wine

Shake all the ingredients except sparkling wine, double strain into a chilled coupe glass, then top with sparkling wine and garnished with 3 dried rose buds.

Morning Glory cocktail

Morning Glory 

2 oz. Effen vodka 

½ oz. Orange juice 

¾ oz. Turmeric-infused pineapple juice 

½ oz. Lime juice  

Ginger beer  

Add vodka and juices to shaker tin, fill with ice and strain into Collins glass full of ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime and orange wheel between the ice and glass. Serve with a straw.

1 ½ oz. Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit & Rose vodka

½ oz. Lillet Blanc

½ oz. Pressed heirloom tomato juice

½ oz. Grapefruit cordial

½ oz. Fresh lime juice

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake hard and strain over large ice cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with a thin grapefruit crescent and pinch of Maldon salt.

Monkey Around 

½ part Absolut vodka

½ part Monkey 47 gin

½ part Lillet wine-based aperitif

3 ½ part Mumm Grand Cordon Rosé Champagne

Shake vodka, gin, and Lillet over ice. Strain into coupe. Top with Champagne. Garnish with lemon twist
