8 Cocktails for Thanksgiving 2023

It’s time to gather together, raise a toast and give thanks. Mixologists go all out this time of year creating gorgeous and delicious cocktails that celebrate the flavors of fall. Here are eight recipes that we like for 2023, and for more, here’s our 2022 Thanksgiving roundup.

Spiced Pear Negroni

Course Drinks
Keyword Averna, barrel-aged gin, gentian amaro, Luxaro aperitivo, spiced pear liqueur

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Barrel-aged gin
  • ½ oz. Select Aperitivo
  • ½ oz. Lo-Fi gentian aperitif
  • ¼ oz. Averna
  • ¼ oz. St. George spiced pear liqueur

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir well and strain into chilled Nick & Nora glass.
  • Garnish with a thin lemon twist.

All Right Now

Course Drinks
Keyword Galliano, sparkling wine, thyme, vodka

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Smoke Lab aniseed vodka
  • 1 oz. Galliano L’ Auntentico liqueur
  • 2 oz. Sparkling wine
  • 2 sprigs Thyme
  • 1 tsp. Brown sugar/cinnamon mixture – half rim
  • Lemon twist

Instructions

  • Half rim a coupe with brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
  • Combine vodka, Galliano, and thyme in a shaker with ice.
  • Shake and fine strain into the half-rimmed coupe.
  • Top with sparkling wine.
  • Express lemon twist over cocktail and then discard.

Copper Skies

Course Drinks
Keyword Cinnamon syrup, Cinnamon whiskey, coconut water, grapefruit soda

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Uncle Nearest 1856 whiskey
  • ¾ oz. Cinnamon syrup
  • ½ oz. Lime juice
  • 1 ½ oz. Coconut water
  • Grapefruit soda
  • Grated cinnamon
  • Grapefruit peel garnish

Instructions

  • Combine whiskey, cinnamon syrup, lime juice and coconut water in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
  • Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with grapefruit soda. Garnish with a grapefruit peel and fresh grated cinnamon.

Fall Spiced Wine Mule

Course Drinks
Keyword apple juice, cava, ginger beer, pear vodka

Ingredients

  • 1 part Absolut Pear vodka
  • 1 part Apple juice
  • ¼ part Lime juice
  • 1 part Ginger beer
  • 2 parts Campo Viejo Cava Brut
  • Mint apple and cinnamon stick garnish

Instructions

  • Build all ingredients in glass or bowl.
  • Add ice, top with cava.
  • Garnish with mint, apple slices and a cinnamon stick.

Cranberry Sage Smash

Course Drinks
Keyword agave, cranberry, sage, tequila

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Avion Cristalino tequila
  • 1 oz. Canned cranberry sauce
  • 3 Lime wedges
  • 2-3 Sage leaves
  • Barspoon of Agave nectar

Instructions

  • Muddle lime, sage, cranberry and agave in a shaker tin.
  • Add tequila and ice and shake vigorously.
  • Strain ingredients over fresh ice.
  • Garnish with two cranberries and a sage leaf.

Pecan Pie Martini

Course Drinks
Keyword half and half, pecan syrup, RumChata, vodka

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. American Harvest organic vodka
  • 1 oz. RumChata
  • 2 tbsp. Torani butter pecan syrup
  • 1 ½ oz. Half & Half

Instructions

  • Combine in cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Shake and strain into a Martini glass.
  • Garnish rim with finely chopped pecans.
  • Top with whipped cream.

Fireside Chat

Course Drinks
Keyword cacao rum, coconut liqueur, lemon, vanilla, Wild Turkey Bourbon

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Wild Turkey bourbon
  • ½ oz. Copalli Cacao rum
  • ½ oz. Mahina Coconut liqueur
  • ¾ oz. Chipotle vanilla syrup
  • 1 oz. Lemon

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to the small tin.
  • Hard shake over ice for 5-7 seconds.
  • Strain into a double rocks glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish with red orange cherry flag.

Sweet Potato & Hazelnut Sazerac

Course Drinks
Keyword hazelnut bitters, Peychaud’s bitters, rye, sweet potato

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Knob Creek rye whiskey
  • ½ oz. Sweet potato reduction
  • 2 Dashes Hazelnut bitters
  • 4 Dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • Absinthe

Instructions

  • Rinse a rocks glass with absinthe.
  • Add a large rock of ice.
  • Add other ingredients and stir.
  • Garnish with a macaron.
