A Round of Valentine’s Day Cocktails for 2023

Valentine’s Day is coming up fast and the specialty cocktail recipes are rolling in. Mixologists let their creativity fly for this holiday, having fun with the heart and flowers themes, the red, pink and purple colors and decadent chocolate, fruit and candy flavors.

We get so many good Valentine’s Day cocktail recipes that we have to do two rounds. Here’s the first round for 2023, and here are the 12 holiday cocktails we featured in 2022.

Peppermint Strawberry Hot Cocoa

Course Drinks
Keyword coffee liqueur, milk, peppermint schapps, rum

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Kōloa Kaua’i Cacao rum
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • Splash Peppermint schnapps
  • 2 oz. Coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz. Strawberry sauce
  • ½ cup White chocolate baking chocolate

Instructions

  • Place milk, white chocolate and strawberry sauce in a medium saucepan.
  • Heat to melt the chocolate — do not boil.
  • Once the mixture is thoroughly heated, add in the alcohol ingredients.
  • Pour into the desired mug and serve immediately.

Lady Lover

Course Drinks
Keyword honey syrup, lemon, Liquor 43, mezcal

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Dos Hombres mezcal
  • ½ oz. Honey syrup half honey, half hot water
  • ½ oz. Liquor 43
  • 2 Dashes Angostura bitters
  • ¾ oz. Lemon juice

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a shaker.
  • Vigorously shake.
  • Serve in a rocks glass with half a rim of salt.

Peanut Butter & Jealous

Course Drinks
Keyword half and half, peanut butter whiskey, raspberry liqueur

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Skrewball peanut butter whiskey
  • ¾ oz. Raspberry liqueur
  • 1 oz. Half & half

Instructions

  • Shake ingredients vigorously.
  • Double strain into a coupe.
  • Garnish with fresh raspberries.

Raspberry Martini

Course Drinks
Keyword dry vermouth, gin, raspberry syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Minke Irish gin
  • 1 oz. Dry vermouth
  • 1 oz. Raspberry syrup

Instructions

  • Stir ingredients and ice together in a shaker or mixing glass.
  • Double strain into a chilled Martini glass.
  • Garnish with fresh or frozen raspberries.

Devil’s Kiss

Course Drinks
Keyword coffee liqueur, espresso, vodka, White chocolate liqueur

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Dirty Devil vodka
  • 2 oz. Espresso
  • 1 oz. White chocolate liqueur
  • 1 oz. Coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz. Simple syrup

Instructions

  • Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake vigorously and strain into pre-chilled Martini glasses.
  • Garnish with three espresso beans.
  • Serve with a chocolate covered strawberry on the side.

Love Potion

Course Drinks
Keyword gin, lemon, pomegranate juice

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Deviation Distilling Citrus Rosé gin
  • ¾ oz. Pomegranate juice
  • ¼ oz. Lemon juice
  • ½ oz. Egg white
  • 3 drops of Angostura bitters
  • 8 drops Almond extra

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients in a shaker with no ice.
  • Dry shake for 30-40 seconds to allow egg white to foam and ingredients to marry.
  • Add ice and shake for 30-40 seconds until the cocktail frosts the shaker.
  • Strain into a Martini or cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with fresh raspberries.

Cibolo 75

Course Drinks
Keyword elderflower liqueur, lemon, prosecco, sotol, Strawberry syrup

Ingredients

  • ¾ oz. Strawberry syrup
  • ¾ oz. Desert Door sotol
  • ¾ oz. Lemon juice
  • ¾ oz. St. Germain elderflower liqueur
  • Prosecco

Instructions

  • Combine strawberry syrup, sotol and lemon juice and shake.
  • Strain into flute and add prosecco to taste.
  • Top with elderflower liqueur.

Untamed Heart

Course Drinks
Keyword berry sorbet, elderflower liqueur, lemon, prosecco, vodka

Ingredients

  • Scoop of mixed berry sorbet
  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 1 oz. St. Germaine elderflower liqueur
  • 1 oz. Lemon
  • ½ oz. Simple syrup
  • 1 mini bottle of Prosecco
  • Edible flowers

Instructions

  • Place sorbet heart into fishbowl-style glass (or large Martini or coupe).
  • Surround with edible flowers.
  • Shake together vodka, St. Germaine, lemon and simple syrup in a tin.
  • Pour mixture into glass on the side of the heart.
  • Top with prosecco.

Viva Mi Corazón

1 ½ oz. Don Ramón Platinium Cristalino Reposado tequila ½ oz. Lime juice 2 oz. Grilled beet juice 1 oz. Orange juice ½ oz. Chile liqueur

Keyword beet juice, chile liqueur, lime, orange, tequila

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Don Ramón Platinium Cristalino Reposado tequila
  • ½ oz. Lime juice
  • 2 oz. Grilled beet juice
  • 1 oz. Orange juice
  • ½ oz. Chile liqueur

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to shaker.
  • Shake vigorously.
  • Double strain into tall glass with ice
  • Garnish with a flower.

Notes

For grilled beet juice:
Wash and peel the beets, ideally cut them into thick slices and grill them for 12 minutes or alternatively, cook them in boiling water for 15 minutes. Add to the blender and for each beet use, 50 ml of water (if boiled, use the same water that was used to cook them).

French Kiss

Course Drinks
Keyword Cognac, Crop Meyer lemon vodka, raspberry puree, sparkling wine

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz. Hennessy Cognac
  • ½ oz. Simple syrup
  • ¾ oz. Fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz. Raspberry puree
  • Top with sparkling wine or Champagne

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients except Champagne to the mixing tin with ice.
  • Shake until chilled.
  • Strain into a wine glass.
  • Top with Champagne.
  • Garnish with lemon twist and a raspberry.
