Diageo’s Bulleit brand of whiskey has launched Blenders’ Select No. 001.
Bulleit Blender Eboni Major combined three whiskeys for this 100-proof spirit. Aged a minimum of nine years, the blend includes notes of vanilla bean, honey, dried fruit and toasted oak, the company says, as well as a finish with sweet cream and fruit wine.
Barrel selection for this new whiskey was identical as Bulleit Bourbon. It matured in new American white oak barrels, which were flame-charred to a #4 char, with the barrel heads flame-charred to a #2 char.
Bulleit Bourbon Blenders’ Select No. 001 is the first offering from the distillery’s new limited-edition Blenders’ Select series.
The suggested retail price is $49.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
Bulleit recently opened a new $117-million distillery and visitor center in Shelbyville, KY.
