Tres Comas is a new tequila from Diageo, released in a collaboration with HBO and the show Silicon Valley.
The name is a comical allusion to the number of commas in a billion, and refers to the oversized Silicon Valley character Russ Hanneman, a “billionaire and self-proclaimed tech titan.” The product first appeared on the show as a way for Hanneman to “re-billionize.”
Tres Comas is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave aged in American oak barrels for more than a year. The flavor profile has notes of vanilla and spice, the company says, and has a toasted oak finish.
The suggested retail price is $44.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
“Tres Comas is literally the best tequila on the market. I drink it, so that’s how you know,” says Hanneman, founder of Tres Comas (and played by actor Chris Diamantopoulos on Silicon Valley). “I love it! I’ll buy a round for everyone! I can do that because I’m a billionaire. I’ll also buy everyone a safe ride home though, can’t let anything happen to my baby. And by my baby, I mean my precious and really expensive sportscar.”
