Hard cider brand Strongbow reintroduced its Original Dry this past summer, prompted by consumer demand for the less-sweet alcoholic cider. The Heineken USA brand announced Oct. 30 that Strongbow Original Dry is available in all can formats, as well as 50-liter steel kegs for on-premise draught programs throughout the U.S.
As tastes in the U.S shift toward a preference for less-sweet beverages, consumers have been calling on Strongbow via social media to bring back the original British dry cider formula. Strongbow makes the original dry cider with a mixture of bittersweet and culinary apples for a crisp, less-sweet taste, says Strongbow brand director TJ Keighley. Like all Strongbow products, Original Dry is 5% ABV and gluten free.
