AB InBev through its subsidiary ZX Ventures has acquired the Kent, England-based Atom Group.
The properties of the purchased company include the craft liquids company Adam Brands, the online store Master of Malt, and the distributor Maverick Drinks.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
ZX Ventures launched in 2015 as the global innovation and growth unit of AB InBev.
“This partnership will allow us to move even faster towards our goals of sourcing and bottling the best whiskies, gins, and other spirits available anywhere, and distributing them to more people than ever before across the globe,” Atom Brands says on a post on its website announcing the deal. “The implications of this investment in terms of our ability to source and produce the world’s finest spirits really can’t be overstated – the resources, distribution channels and opportunities that are opened up by this deal are simply epic in scale.”
Brands under control by Atom Brands include Ableforth spirits,That Boutique-y Gin Company, and That Boutique-y Whisky Company, among others.
