Detroit City Distillery has announced its Homegrown Rye Whiskey.
This spirit was made using Eaton County rye to produce a spicy, buttery whiskey, the company says.
Homegrown Rye Whiskey is 47% ABV and has a mash bill of 97% rye with 3% barley and caramel malted barley. It is aged in freshly charred white American oak barrels. The whiskey has hints of coffee on the nose, the company says, and tastes of caramel and malted barley with a rich finish.
Detroit City Distillery makes small batch whiskey, gin and vodka using the local ingredients sourced directly from farms near the distillery and tasting room located in Detroit’s famed Eastern Market.
The suggested retail price for Homegrown Rye Whiskey is $50.
