Another Round: Six More St. Patrick’s Day Drinks

When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day libations, beer is beautiful, Guinness is great, whiskey is wonderful and cider is super. But a fresh and funky cocktail is also a great way to for celebrate the Emerald Isle and honor St. Pat. Here are six more in addition to the four we posted last week; if you missed our first round of holiday cocktails, you can find them here.


 


Shamrocktini
1 part Devotion vodka
1 part Midori melon liqueur
Dash of Green Chartreuse


Combine ingredients in mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain into Martini glass.

Gherkin Fresca Margarita
1 oz. Cucumber-Lime Aqua Fresca*
1½ oz. Sauza silver tequila
¼ oz. Hendrick’s gin
¼ oz. House-infused jalapeño simple syrup**


Build the cocktail in a rocks glass over ice and garnish with one or two cucumber wheels. 


*Cucumber-lime aqua fresca:
1 Cucumber
1 cup Water
¼ cup Lime juice
¼ cup Agave nectar or simple syrup


Puree cucumber with the water and strain through a fine strainer. Then add the lime juice and agave nectar or simple syrup.


**Jalapeño simple syrup
1 cup Water
½ cup Sugar
2 Jalapeño peppers 


Make a small slice lengthwise in the jalapeños to allow oils to release during infusing process. Boil all of the ingredients together for 20 minutes.

Green Dream
1 ½ oz. Wild Turkey American Honey
½ oz. Yuzu
½ oz. Lemon juice
Tablespoon honey
2 oz. House-made Green Drink (a blend of fresh kale, spinach, carrots, ginger and green apple juices) 


Build drink in mixing glass with ice. Shake then strain into a small wine glass. Top with a green foam made from elderflower liqueur, sugar, egg whites  and green drink; grate lemon zest on top of foam.

Honey, I’m Home
1 ½ oz. Bushmills Irish Honey
Lemon Wedge
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Ginger Beer

In a mixing glass, add Bushmills, bitters and ginger beer. Shake, stir and strain over ice.

Cucumber Mojito
2 parts Prairie Cucumber flavored vodka
1 part Fresh squeezed lime juice
2 tsp. Sugar
6 Fresh mint leaves


Muddle mint, sugar and lime juice in a Collins glass. Fill with ice, add vodka and top with soda water. Shake or mix and garnish with a cucumber wedge.

Shamrock Shake
50 ml Belvedere Vodka
20 ml lemon juice
15 ml simple syrup
Dash egg white


Combine all ingredients and dry shake to emulsify egg white. Add ice and shake vigorously. Fine strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and discard.
